Community Links

Here at Orchard Infant School, we strive to build strong links with our community. Please take a look below at some of the things we have been getting up to.

What a heart‑warming celebration of community spirit we enjoyed today! Our wonderful OIPA filled the school with festive joy as they sang for the elderly visitors from the Horrill Centre, who were welcomed with hot drinks and delicious mince pies. The children’s performance was met with smiles and tears, and the afternoon was made even more special by pulling crackers and sharing cheerful conversations together. These moments of connection remind us how powerful it is when generations come together, bringing comfort, laughter, and a sense of belonging, especially at Christmas. We were truly delighted to welcome our guests into school and cannot wait for many more visits that continue to strengthen the bonds within our community.

What a fantastic afternoon our school choir (OIPA) have had singing and performing to the residents of Muir House! It was so lovely to see the residents joining in with the dancing and singing, the smiles on everyone’s faces captured the moment beautifully. Community means everything to us at Orchard Infant School!

Year 1 and 2 Trip to Sing to the Elderly

Our fabulous ‘Orchard Infant School Performance Academy’ had the pleasure of singing Christmas Carols to the members of the Horrill Centre today. Take a Look below at the article published in the Herald Newspaper too!

sid and his bagatelle board

Sid, a member of our local community has been busy making bagatelle boards from recycled materials at home, and was excited to donate one to our school. Even more overwhelming, is that Sid now comes in each week, and spends time with our children, teaching them how to play it...we are extremely lucky!!
